Hi, my name's Marcus and I run The Pet Servant. I've been lucky enough to share my life with a variety of pets, (3 dogs, 14 cats, 3 rats, 3 hamsters and many fish), and couldn't imagine life without them.

At the moment I have 3 cats, and I began to think about who would look after them if I went away. Before they had been looked after at home by a relative, but that wasn't an option anymore.

I thought about taking them to a cattery, but knew I'd spend so much time worrying about how frightened and stressed they were, being left in a strange place, with strange people, that it wouldn't be worth going away.... (read more)

When I started talking to other people about it, I found they felt the same way too. A friend or neighbour may be able to come in during the day and put some food down, or let the dog out. But are they willing or able to spend the extra time needed playing, walking and fussing your pet for it to be happy?

That's why I decided to become "The Pet Servant" (after all, having had 14 cats I know all about being a servant!). It gives me the opportunity to spend time doing something I love whilst giving other pet owners the peace of mind of knowing that their pets are lovingly cared for whilst they're away.
