We only have our one male poodle and one female golden retriever. Our family has had many different breeds of dogs for pets in our past. Our last dog, before the beautiful animals that we have today, was a miniature american eskimo dog. She was so sweet, but the problems of the breed were many. She had terrible allergies, was blind from a young age, and shed heavily.
When we were looking for a new dog to try to fill the hole in our family, we realized how hard it was to find a breeder in the area who knew what he/she was doing and really cared for the dogs he/she was breeding.... (read more) We decided at that moment that we wanted to provide that service to the people in our area. We sought advice from our friends, who respectably bred dobermans.
Next we needed to pick a breed. We thought that goldendoodles would make the best family pets, which is the kind of dog that we wanted to breed. We knew that they were more genetically sound than many of the purebreds out there and were adored by anyone who owned one. We then raised a little golden retriever and poodle puppy, enjoyed the fun of training two puppies at the same time (which would have been a lot easier with just one), and had our first litter. Our little family adventure went from there.
Since then, our doberman breeding friends have advised us on shipping puppies (and how strictly regulated and safe it is for the puppies) and now we have some well-loved goldendoodles in New York, Florida, and Texas.
